AICE Media Studies

  This is my video! I have learned many new things in the production and am excited to start the new project.

 1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues? Our product challenges conventions due to me (the main actor), being of a specific descent, Native American. In the film industry it is not common for actors of Native American descent to achieve social representation.  2. How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text? Our product engages with the audience by using an actor that would be relatable for the main audience as the age groups are compatible. Our product would be distributed as real media text through online ads. 3. How did your production skills develop throughout this project? Before I started this project I was completely oblivious to anything in the production aspect. While filming, acting, and editing throughout this project I was constantly learning new things. 4. How did you integrate technologies - software, hardware and online - in this project? I integrated tech

 One of my group members had personal restrictions on the original film date. Instead of filming on the original date, the 8th, my group filmed on the 9th. I enjoyed filming a lot. I was the "actor", being the main point in the commercial. Elton was in charge of holding the camera and filming. During filming it was raining. I believe the rain made the commercial even better. Due to the rain, Elton brought an umbrella. Luke's main job was to be a director. He had the ideas for most of the shots in the commercial. Luke also carried the umbrella over the camera. This was to insure that no water got onto the lens, affecting the quality. The first shot was extremely easy to film. It was a low angle of me tying my Adidas shoes. We also filmed several shots of me shooting the soccer ball into the goal. During the shots of me shooting the ball, elton acted as a goalie to add realness to the commercial.  My team has not started filming yet. This is due to the recent hurricane that hit florida. My group planned on shooting last week but have since moved the filim date. We will be filming Saturday the 8th. We will be filming the commercial at Holiday park. I am extremely excited to film our commercial. My group members also share this excitement. Transportation to Holiday park will not be a problem for me. I live around 5 minutes away and will skateboard there at the set time of filming. My group has planned on filming at 12:30 am. This is due to the fact that it will be sunny and we will not have to worry about lighting. The park also gets busy in the afternoon, so going early will give us free space. In our commercial I will be the "actor"in the group. My other team members will be the ones filming and editing the commercial. I believe that that is a fair way to distribute the work.   First Scene - The first scene the sound will be quiet . In this scene, we will use an extreme close-up of someone's eyes and then tilt to show the subject's entire outfit including an A didas soccer ball at their feet. This shot is to act as a n introductory shot , i ntroducing our viewer to the subject. This shot also provides the viewer with the setting .   This shot wi ll be taken at Holiday Park on the soccer fiel d .   Second Scene- Then the non-diegetic sound will begin . We will use a tracking shot at a low angle to follow the subject   as they quickly and abruptly begi n dribbling with the adidas ball up the field. This scene will also be filmed at the holiday park soccer fiel d.   Third scene- The camera then switches to a close up shot . The subject will then run into frame and the camera will be at   the subject's waist down . These camera changes come o nce he approaches the 18yd box .   Props & Costumes   Our group is making a commercial on Adidas, so almost all props will be Adidas merchandise. Our Main props will consist of a soccer ball, Gear and footwear , all of which will be Adidas branded. Due to the athletic nature of our commercial, the costumes that will be worn in the video will all be athletic based gear. The gear in question will be A adidas all-purpose shirt, Adidas running shorts, High socks and cleats. There will also be a soccer goal that will be provided by Holiday Park .   Schedule   On 9/29 our group decided to get together and do a Sports based commercial .   On 9/30 Our group decided to do our commercial on adidas .   On 10/2 our group came together and made a plan on what we are going to do, a soccer commercial .   On 10/4 Our group decided on props, tools , and planning .   On 10/8 our group will shoot our film needed for the commercial .   On 10/10 our group will make final edits and spins on our film and complete our 30 second
