Title Research: After We Collided

  Hey there, I used the movie title "After We Collided" as it follows the romantic theme of our movie idea. When researching the movie title, I came across the website www.artofthetitle.com, I used this website because it was easy to navigate and find my research. 

 

1. What titles are displayed during the opening sequences? 

Titles displayed during the opening sequence are a bunch of opening credits that introduce the films key cast and crew members on a black background with bold white letters. As the credits are shown, there are a bunch of clips from the previous movie "After" being shown to give a recap to the audience. In the opening titles and credits, the production company logo is also shown along with other visuals to put a mood in place.  


2. What images are prioritized in the opening sequence? 

Images prioritized in the opening sequence were all the montage scenes that came from the previous movie. The images bring lots of prioritization to the 2 main characters that fell in love, displaying their intense relationship.  


3. What connotation do these images carry? 

The connotations these images carry are obviously romance with a hint of drama and passion mixed with it. This helps focus on the emotions between the 2 characters throughout the entire movie.  


4. How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the outset? 
 The film establishes a feeling of the genre from the outset by showing a lot of pictures that display very intense emotions in those moments which values the idea of being in a passionate relationship. with that being said, a lot of romantic tension was brought to the table creating a larger sense of drama between the 2 main characters.  


5. What strategies are used to ensure the film appeals to its target audience? 

Some strategies used to ensure the film appeals to its target audience are attractive actors for one. Most of the actors in the movie are all attractive in different ways which would appeal to a younger teenage and early 20s audience. Throughout the movie, I also heard a lot of popular music which would be one to younger people's attention such as mine. The last strategy I noticed is that the film is involved in a book series which lots of people have read.  


6. How has technology been used effectively? You want to consider camera angles, transitions and editing techniques.  
 Technology has been used effectively by using several different angles, transitions, and editing techniques such as a variety of close-up shots. This contributed to the intimacy of romance in the movie. With editing, quick cuts were used during heated arguments between the 2 main characters to create a higher sense of drama for the audience to get hooked on. Some special effects were also used such as slow motion and color grading.

Our Plan

 In order to take the next steps for our music video, our group has started a discussion in terms of production. Our group decided on the song “All Want for christmas" by Mariah Carey. We want to really nail the Christmas theme on this video, at least to the best of our ability. Living in a tropical state like Florida means we will more than likely not be including snow in our video. In terms of props we plan on using Christmas stockings, Jingle bells, missile toes and Christmas theme socks and shirts. Due to the nature of our music video, our group will have to go to multiple filming locations. Our central filming location will be done at Las Olas. Having the filming location done at las Olas is a great idea because we feel it perfectly encapsulates a south Florida Christmas. Editing Mess-up: Vertical vs. Horizontal

 Hey, blog!  Film-making requires exacting attention to detail and a combination of technical skill and imagination. Our group recently had a setback in our endeavor to create a five-minute video, which taught us important lessons about how important it is to follow good film-making practices. Our error? filming in a vertical rather than a horizontal orientation—a seemingly insignificant mistake with serious consequences . We went into production with a strong screenplay and a distinct concept, initially full of energy. However, we discovered our camera misalignment throughout the editing process.   The vertical footage that is frequently seen in informal smartphone recordings presented difficulties for our career goals. It confused scenes and broke the flow of the story. The sudden changes in frames created the illusion of an incomplete rather than well-executed piece of work.
